A fine "Union" relief-moulded jug by William Brownfield, in white stoneware with a brown background. Height 18.9 cm (7.3in). Moulded marks with title on a panel, registration diamond for 4 December 1861, and Staffordshire knot enclosing initials WB and size 24. Some browning to the footrim and marks rather indistinct, otherwise very good condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration.
