Hackney & Co.

Hackney & Co. are listed as parian manufacturers at Daisy Bank Longton, in one directory for 1867. The firm is not listed in Godden M but the same author's Encyclopaedia of British Porcelain Maunufacturers states that Charles Hackney & Co. succeeded Hackney, Warrilow & Co. from 31 July 1866.

The firm registered one parian jug in 1868, moulded but with added printed decoration.

Design registered on 16 July 1868, Parcel 3, Number 219833, by Hackney & Co. of Longton. A moulded parian jug with reserves on either side lithograph printed with scenes of bacchanalain cherube, at least one of which can be seen on sprigged jugs made by Spode much earlier in the century.
