Staffordshire Potters

Frustrated by the problems of trying to trace smaller potters, many of whom made transferwares or relief-moulded jugs, I assembled Staffordshire Potters to provide basic source material to a wider audience. Other books have worked by listing potters whose marks have been recorded; I tried the opposite approach of listing all potters regardless of known marked examples. This has proved worthwhile and has answered many questions about the smaller potteries, many of whom were only in business for short periods.
