Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore
T.C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co.

Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore succeeded John Ridgway, Bates & Co. and are listed at Cauldon Place, Hanley in 1860 and 1861. They were in turn succeeded by T.C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. who are listed from 1862 right through to the end of the century Godden gives their dates as 1859-61 and 1862-1904.

The two firms registered several relief-moulded jug designs. The firstjug listed below was registered in the name of Bates & Co. of Hanley in 1860, a partnership name which does not appear in the directories and is presumed to be just a shorthand version of Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore.
